Sandra grew up learning how to design and make her own clothes and studied music from the age of ten.

On leaving school at fifteen years old, she obtained a trainee position at an award-winning fashion house in Melbourne, Australia.  After a two-year visit back to the UK, Sandra returned to Australia but this time to Sydney, NSW, where she studied the first year of a Fashion Certificate course.

However, her career path subtly diverted to the entertainment industry after she left her fashion studies and obtained work as an International Telephonist at the GPO in Sydney. She resumed her music studies, joined a local drama group and attended dance classes in contemporary and jazz ballet.

Her work at the GPO sparked her interest in radio broadcasting and after returning to the UK in 1980, Sandra took up acting before becoming involved in radio broadcasting and journalism.

Sandra has worked as a background artiste on numerous major films, television productions, and some commercials. These include:

The Rotter’s Club
The Nation’s Health
Who Dares Wins
The Pink Panther
A Woman of Substance
The Secret Garden

She has also performed with various amateur and semi-professional theatrical companies such as:

The Wimbledon Y workshops
The Children’s Drama Workshop (street theatre productions)
The Ellerslie Theatre Company (T.I.E. production of Alice in Wonderland)
City Literary Institute production of Cyrano de Bergerac.

Her other work has included participation in various local London festivals:

Actress at The Greenwich Festival,
Assistant Volunteer’s Manager for The 2012 Sydenham Festival and
Artiste Liaison Officer and Steward for M.O.L’s 2012 Regent Street Festival
plus seasonal DJ/Entertainments roles in the UK and abroad.

Sandra has worked as a volunteer DJ/presenter for:

The Nelson Hospital Radio
Whipp’s Cross Hospital Radio
Radio St Helier
Radio Marsden
Sydenham Community Radio
Ridge Radio

and on Lambeth College’s Vox student radio station and the University of West London’s Blast student radio station.

Sandra is looking to return to work in the media, entertainment and film industries after working as a PA and Legal PA/Secretary whilst raising her children and studying for a university degree. She is currently available for work in broadcasting (film, television, radio, online), publishing, media presenting and production.  She is also a bit of a techie and can repair PCs.
